ConClusion
Based on the many reviews we have read this duvet is certainly good value for money. We did read some reviews that buyers had received second hand duvets and ones with plucked threads, though we could see no actual images of those. If that is the case they should of course instantly return it and get refunded.
The majority of buyers were full of praise for this duvet. They said it was well made, looked very good and was an ideal one duvet for all year round solution. Those who did buy this duvet bought more of them for their other bedrooms and that is always a very good sign.

What are TOG ratings?
TOG refers to the warmth of your duvet. The higher the TOG rating the warmer the duvet will be. TOG ratings range from 1-15, however in the UK the lightest available is 4.0 and the heaviest is 13.5 TOG.
Tog Rating | When to Use |
---|---|
4/4.5 | A lightweight duvet to be used in the Summer months and keeps you warm without overheating |
7.5 | This is also a lightweight duvet suitable for Spring and Summer for those who prefer a slightly heavier duvet without overheating |
9-10.5 | This is a very popular choice for all year round use and saves you having to buy a separate summer and winter duvet. A throw or blanket can be added on particularly cold nights |
13-13.5 | This is a Winter TOG duvet for the colder months |
For comfortable sleeping a bedroom should be between 18-21 degrees Celsius at night. If this is the case then a 9 to 10.5 TOG rate duvet is ideal all year around.
What does thread count mean?
Thread count measures the number of horizontal and vertical threads in a square inch of cotton. It is one measurement of the quality of bedding such as sheets, blankets and covers.
So for example a duvet cover with a 300 thread count means it has 150 threads going horizontally and 150 threads going vertically in each square inch of their duvet.
Good quality thread counts come in at around 150-180 and anything above 200 is classed as being high quality. Our advice is to ignore anything that is in the range 800-1200 as that is just not possible. Some manufacturers have actually got into trouble for unfairly representing their thread counts.
It can all get very complex, so our advice is that thread counts of 200-300 have a high quality luxurious feel.
What does hypoallergenic mean?
You will see the word hypoallergenic used a lot when it comes to bedding and especially with pillows. This simply means that the pillow does not contain any materials that are likely to cause allergies.
This is very important for anyone who suffers from allergies such as asthma or breathing difficulties.
What does machine washable mean?
Some pillow covers can be machine washed whereas some others need to be hand washed or in some cases sent for dry cleaning. It really does depend on what material is used for the cover of the pillow.
Most are machine washable and usually this is done at 40 degrees Celsius.

There are hundreds of duvets to pick from on the UK marketplace. That number reduces a lot when it comes to duvets that contain goose down. That is because any duvet with more than 75% fill of goose down is classed as a luxury duvet.
The Snuggledown Hungarian goose down duvet is in that luxury end of the market. Many people say that Hungarian goose down is the best in Europe. There is no question that it is an excellent choice and it is very soft.
It is hand picked in a British factory and the buyer reviews clearly praise its quality.
