Best Cleaner for Induction Hob UK 2024

By  Enda McLarnon

In this article we explain the best cleaner for induction hobs. It is a fact that a clean induction hob is a great deal more efficient than a dirty one. The reason for that is that clean hobs transfer heat more effectively from the rings to the cooking vessels.

Making sure the hob surface is clean also makes it easier to see the guide marks on the surface of the hob.

In most cases you can wash down an induction hob with washing up liquid and water and that will get rid of most surface dirt. The main thing you want to be careful with when it comes to cleaning an induction hob is to avoid anything that may scratch the surface.

Induction hobs are highly prone to scratches and scuffs when using the wrong cleaning products. So avoid anything such as hard sponges, abrasive and caustic cleaning products, or any products that contain ammonia or bleach.

Never use a scouring pad or steel wool on an induction hob.

Full Buyer's Guide

We always like to include a full buyer's guide for UK buyers so as they can be fully informed about the various features that go to make up a good laminate floor cleaner.

Laminate flooring can be used in most areas of the home including dining rooms, living rooms, hallways, kitchens and bedrooms. You can also get it for bathrooms but you need to buy a certain type. Likewise, if you have any type of underfloor heating then you also need to buy a special type.

What is an Induction Hob?

You may have bought an induction hob, and if that is the case, then we know that you will have done your research as to the many benefits of using this type compared to other types of hobs.

Some home owners however also inherit these when they buy a new home as it has been left as part of the kitchen by the previous buyer.

For those people induction hobs are different as they directly heat the pan and not the actual hob ring.  They work like this as when you turn on an induction hob, a magnetic field underneath the surface is activated.

Placing the pot or pan on the hob, completes the circuit is completed and the bottom of the pan gets heated. That makes induction cooking fast and highly energy efficient.

Induction Hob Disadvantages

The downside of induction hobs is that they are expensive to buy initially, and you do need certain types of magnetic steel or cast iron pots and pans.

The hobs are expensive and so are the pots and pans when compared to other hob types such as ceramic, solid plat electric, gas or glass.

They can of course get damaged if you use the wrong cleaning products. Avoid anything that may cause a scratch of any kind.

Easy to Clean

Generally speaking induction hobs are very easy to clean. Some soapy water and a cloth are all they need to keep them in good shape. Every now and again though they will benefit from a good quality cleaner to deep clean them and restore the shine.

A daily wipe down is always better than once a week if you have the time to do that. Where possible try to wipe off spills as soon as they happen otherwise they can get baked on.

White vinegar is really good at removing grease, and also makes the hob surface a great deal easier to clean.

How to use an Induction Hob Cleaner

It is important to allow any hob to cool down before cleaning.

Use a soft cloth, ideally a microfibre cloth to remove any loose food or dirt from the surface of the hob.

You can then apply a small amount of hob cleaner to the hob and use a damp cloth or sponge to remove the stains from the hob surface.

Finally use a microfibre cloth to remove any cleaner and help buff to a nice shine.

How to clean a burnt induction hob

If you have an induction hob with a lot of burning or over spill marks then it will need some additional work to clean. As before try to remove any loose food or dirt from the surface of the hob.

Again give it a quick wash with washing up liquid and water to remove any grease or grime and then you can see what you are actually dealing with. If the burn marks look to be bad, then it is a good idea to make a smooth paste of baking soda and white vinegar.

Spread this paste on the burned areas and leave it there for around an hour to do its work. After that carefully and gently start to wipe it off. With deep burning you may need to do this 2-3 more times to get rid of it all.

Then, once you are satisfied you can wash it again with washing up liquid and hot water and then dry off with a soft lint free or microfibre cloth. Some people will do a final clean with white vinegar and buff dry to leave a great shine.

Where can you buy?
