Tefal Soup Maker Review

By  Enda McLarnon

Thanks for taking your time to read our information on the Tefal BL841140 Easy soup and smoothie maker. This is a versatile soup and smoothie maker that can be used all year round.

The average capacity of a soup maker is 1.6 litres, but this Tefal model is slightly smaller at 1.2 litres. That does make it more compact, but it is still big enough to make 4 good sized portions of soup. As it is smaller it is also easier to store.

It can make smooth blended soup, chunky style broth and can also make compotes and smoothies.

Below we have done a complete review that includes how online buyers rate the Tefal soup maker, what they said about it, the details of what it can and can not do, a comparison to two other similar soup makers and a little information about the Tefal brand.

  • Buyers say this has saved them a lot of time compared to making pots of soup

This type of soup maker allows you to make fresh soup quickly and without the hassle of making it in a soup pot. Making soup in a pot does ensure you know what is in it, will not contain preservatives and will taste fresh. However that takes a lot of time and effort.

Time Saver

What puts most people off making large pots of soup is the time that it takes. It is much easier to reach for a packet or a tin than wait hours on it being made.

The soup maker is the best of both worlds really. This Tefal model for example can make fresh soups and smoothies as follows; smooth soup in 23mins, chunky soup in 25mins, compote in 20mins and a smoothie in 4mins.

Yes you still have to chop up the ingredients so a little preparation time is required, but you don't have to do a great deal after that.

Easy to Use

Some soup makers are complicated to use as they have a lot of features and programs to try and understand and then key into an LED menu located on the top of the soup maker. This model has 4 simple programs and it takes just two clicks to get started.

Add your roughly chopped ingredients, choose a program and click ‘start’ on the large, control panel. As soon as the program ends, it will beep three times to let you know that your food is ready.

There is also a ‘keep warm’ mode to keep your food at serving temperature for up to 40 minutes.

Easy to Clean

This appliance has an automatic cleaning program. You simply fill the jug with water, select ‘easy cleaning’ and click ‘start’. Two clicks and 3 minutes later, the cleaning is done.

Recipes

This soup maker also comes with 30 recipes should you run out of your own ideas.

Tefal Soup Maker Compared to other Soup Maker Brands

You have to compare this with similar soup makers that are currently on the UK market to see how it compares in terms of cost and buyer satisfaction. This Tefal model has a 1.2 litre capacity so important to look at similar models in the market.

There are only 2 other models with similar smaller capacities which we have shown along side the Tefal model below.

The key differences with the Tefal when compared to the others is it is a slightly larger capacity (1.2 vs 1.0 litres) is a white colour, can make compotes and smoothies and has a keep warm feature. It also has an automatic cleaning program that the others don't have.

It does not have a sauté function which some buyers prefer.
